It was my intention to write each month of last year. What
it ends up with is a look back on 2016, and when I look back on the pictures I
have taken I need to do a look back on each month.
I also noticed I only did photos in 10 of the 12 months in
2016. Now when I have put a goal in front of me where I should make a
collection for the 3,5 year I have been in Moscow and also make a collection
for the next 1,5 year I will stay in Moscow I have to do them all 12 this year.
And do as I wanted to do for 2016 make a new report each month.
When I in 2018 can look back on “5 years in Moscow” my goal
also will be to put it into a book. Picking out some few hundreds of the thousands
of picture I have and will take over this period. In this period until the end
I also will chase sponsors so my book will be reality. Or should Kickstarter be
the thing?
So this is January 2016 with pictures from some of my walks
around in Moscow and pictures taken on the days noted. Hope you enjoy looking
back as what you catch today is history tomorrow.
January 3rd
Often we go for a short walk around the “0” as we call it.
Up Petrovka down the Boulevard to the statue of Pushkin, further down to the
TASS building passing the Conservatory and take a side street across to Tverskaya
and home. Always something to see and the boulevard is very often through the
season decorated like the pictures shows.
January 7th
Saturdays or Sundays during the winter we head across to
Park Kultury or Gorki Parken as it is called. On one side of the Garden ring
skating on the other side we have all the culture and Galleries. Winter time
and special the time after Christmas and New Year gives us the white shade of
snow and winter, also along the walk back to Petrovka over the Red Square.
January 9th
Walking in Moscow a Sunday evening, and it is the evening
Christmas more or less close down there are many people to see. Some just want
to keep Christmas and the New Year celebration and all what comes with as long
as possible. Special all the lights around, all the decoration around, and to
forget all the friendly atmosphere that are around. Along the way from TSUM, Kuznetski
Most, Children’s Magazine, down Nikolskaya to the Red Square
January 10th
An evening at the theater. At the small scene at the theater,
with a play directed by a last year student. First time is always exciting both
for the audience and the director and the actors. Bravo to the actors and not
at least the director who did a great job. Will be interesting to follow him.
It followed by a Metro ride home.
January 14th
Almost days in a row next theater to visit was Bolshoi. The
week before it was the “Nutcracker”, this time it was the “Swan Lake”. If you
are special interested then look up the dates of performance and see how they
fit in to your program. It should be a must whatever on the program, but have
seen this performance with the very top Ballerina of Bolshoi is peace in heart.
January 17th
In Moscow there are many Parks and many small Ponds. The
Ponds maybe made ice rinks of during the winter. This happens with Patriarchs Pond
and like at the Clean Ponds where these pictures are from.
Ended up to be a short month, but a lot of photos. And this
is just a few I have taken in January. Get onto work on February tomorrow so in
2 weeks I maybe have covered the 10 months in 2016 I have photos from Moscow.
