Looking back on 2016 – AUGUST

After 8 weeks in Italy it was nice to be back in Moscow. The transition moving from Norway to Italy was over and the new home was established. Maybe some minor activities were still unfinished, but we had a home to come back to when we now would get a break from work in Moscow.

During the summer our good Norwegian friend Håkon got married. And an invitation for a small party at Bontempi Restaurant was received. On a nice sunny Friday evening a party like this with its surrounding is very nice. In addition to be served great food by Velentino Bontempi himself and be together with friends to celebrate a half Norwegian half Russian newlywed , just great.

Late August and Moscow are in its most beautiful. The sun is shining, temperature is perfect and the city has taken on the most colorful dress you can imagine. Our walks in the inner circle of Moscow make you happy in mind. Many ways and many areas the city has put up educational exhibits days prior school start.

This time in August, end August early September the Military Tatoo is on or as they call it in Moscow: “Spasskaya Tower Festival”. Spasskaya is one of Kremlins towers and the festival is more than military bands. Folk groups participate in the evening big show where thousands of viewers watch the fantastic shows. Every evening it ends with a fabulous fireworks, it is a fantastic time to visit Moscow, but it can be a bit cold and wet at times. Will be back with more in September, the nice thing is that the participant are around in the parks during the day to perform too or you find them at Red Square as I did this last Sunday in August.
